A newborn baby’s head accounts for about a quarter of its entire weight.

A baby’s head is also large in relation to its body length representing anywhere from one quarter to one third of its total body length.

As children grow, the height and weight gains are accompanied by changes in body proportions. The baby’s head will eventually become smaller in proportion to the body length and eventually ends up at around an eighth of total body length.
